DESCRIPTION

The Wheels of Time is a dynamic show-stopping piano duet with a dramatic introduction of quavers grouped as 1-2-3 1-2-3 1-2 divisions and the main theme in 5/8 time that echoes the unrelenting passing of time or even life itself. A quieter and more playful arpeggio middle section offers a reflection before returning to the dramatic chords from the intro transformed by the decrescendo and ritardando leading to the final poignant Em7 chord.

Commissioned by the Darina Duo and premiered by [names] in 2015, à quatre mains duet has now become a firm favourite with the pianists at the intermediate level. It is often performed in festivals and recitals around the world.
